Today I'll be taking a dive into Nickel Brook Brewing Company's offering Wicked Awesome IPA. This golden cloudy brew is made by munchkins and wizards in Burlington, Ontario. I don't know about the munchkins and wizards, but I'm positive it's made in Burlington.
First off, it's a good looking beer. It's bright, cloudy, and lightly carbonated. It smells like fruit and happiness. Let's have a taste, shall we?
Well well well. That's a tasty brew, right there. It's light, it's refreshing, there's a bit of hoppy flavour to start, but it fades quickly and leaves behind a sweet-ish fruity flavour. It finishes with a slight bitter aftertaste, but that fades quickly as well. It's like magic!
This beer should come with a danger sign on the can. It's very drinkable, very light so multiples are definitely possible, and at 6.5%, there's a very good chance of drunken dancing and poor dietary choices during a night out with Wicked Awesome IPA.
My rating : 8.5/10
My wife is my second sipper. She doesn't like beer very much, but she actually went for a second sip of her own for this one. That's uncommon, let me tell you.
My wife's rating: 6/10
So there you have it, friends. Wicked Awesome IPA is definitely worth a try (or two, or three). Head over to nickelbrook.com to check out the other brews this company offers. I will be sampling more of their work on this blog for sure, so keep an eye out for that.
