Today I'm trying Juicy Ass IPA, produced by the Flying Monkey Craft Brewery out of Barrie, Ontario. I'm going to be honest right off the bat and say "yes, the name caught my eye, and so did the can."
With that out of the way, let's have a look at it. It's a light golden colour, cloudy, and what I would call a medium carbonation. I don't know if that's the right way to describe it, but it's what I'm going with. This juicy ass beer weighs in at 6.5% alcohol, so we're not dealing with a lightweight here.
It looks great and all, but let's get to the point here and taste it.
It's hoppy, pretty bitter, with a lingering aftertaste. It goes down smooth, and I don't get that nasty twinge in the back of my throat, so I have to say kudos to the Flying Monkey for that. It's fairly light despite the hoppiness, which is a surprise.
My rating: 6/10
I think is a one and done beer for me. I would happily accept a Juicy Ass in any social situation, but I can't see myself getting too deep in the Ass personally. At a beefy 6.5%, too much Ass would make for a long night of Ass jokes and a doozy of a headache.
My wife is my second sipper and her opinion is less flattering that mine...
Wife rating: 2/10
She's not too keen on the hops, my wife.
So there you have it my friends. The Juicy Ass IPA brought to you by the Flying Monkey Craft Brewery in Barrie, Ontario. Head over the flyingmonkeys.ca and check out their super fun and creative website. It's anything but boring.
